What a weekend!

WOW, what a weekend, I feel like I need a couple of days off just to recover from everything.

Yesterday we woke up at the track, headed home, visited Casey's grandfather at the hospital, he is still hanging in there and getting better, he's one tough old man! Then it was off to pick up Chance from the Huntley's. He ofcourse had so much fun with them, as I knew he would and he and Kaleb got along better than ever!

Last night was the finale of Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway and Shane and Michelle's wedding in Lynden, of which Casey is in...... Juggling them all was tough, but we got it done. We dropped Chance off at the track to pit for his friend who is driving a quarter midget Tristin, head to the BBQ and watch the races, and meet us in the pits afterwards, then it was home for Casey and I to get ready for the wedding.

It's amazing how quick both Casey and I tranformed from dirty dirt track fans, to dressed up classy wedding folk, see photo below. We arrived at the wedding location about 1:30 for photos and to help with preperation. Michelle looked absolutely amazing and the location was unbelievable the wedding took place at a cottage owned by her Aunt and Uncle. The ceremony was outside next to the creek with a beautiful wooden arbor and glorious roses and flowers behind. The reception was across the yard and was full of great good, good friends and amazing times. Casey and I scooted out a little early and headed to the track.

It was a mad dash out of the wedding, home out of our "wedding" clothes and into our racing clothes, stop at the store for the essentials, beer, cash and chips and off to the races...... The whole way there texting back and forth with friends in the pits to be sure we weren't going to miss the final race. We got there just in time for the start of the B Main Event and then the A main finale for Dirt Cup 2008. I couldn't have been happier!

Jayme Barnes, a local driver from Everett Washington took hom the A main event win. The first local Dirt Cup winner since 1992. I am not going to lie I totally cried, odd the things that make me cry, but I was so happy for him and his family, so awesome to see someone who works so hard for what he has win the $25,000 prize!

After the races Chance got the VIP treament and was allowed into the pits by the flag man who happens to be a friend of ours, he walked around the pits visited, got some pictures and then it was off to bed for the little man seeing as though it was already midnight. After that Casey and I headed out for a night of fun, and fun it was, we are paying for it today!
